I am appalled and shocked by this book. There’s something clearly wrong here if this man claims to be sharing with us what God thinks, because according to Walsch, most of what God thinks is clearly opposite of what the Bible says. This author is using God’s name to tell people to feel good about yourself and do whatever you want. That is NOT the attitude of our loving, but just God. If you really want to know what God thinks buy His bestseller – the Bible!

I really liked this book, and I’m not quite sure why. The Catcher in the Rye is a novel narrated from the point of view of an angst-ridden 16-year-old that doesn’t have that great a vocabulary, is almost always depressed, whines about seemingly trivial things, and hates nearly everybody he meets (Except nuns and children). And it’s not as annoying as it sounds. Salinger was an immensely talented writer, and it’s a shame that he didn’t publish more.

We have a short haired border collie/smooth collie mix. This gets a ton of loose hair out of her that we had no idea was there (until we saw it all over the couch). This is a MUST BUY for ANY dog owner. You’ll never know how much hair your dog sheds until you buy this.

If your running RH7 or you already know how to move around and edit files in linux, this will be a good book.However, I have determined that it is impossible to have “the know all” book on linux admin. The subject is just too large for one book. This book will come in useful for its purpose, administering a RH server. But to cover it all you must buy other books like The UNIX System Administration Handbook, A good Sendmail book, a good Apache Server book (I don’t recommend O’Reilly’s Definite Guide). You will also need a good Linux security book and some sort of command line reference book like O’Reilly’s “Linux in a Nutshell”.If you are a beginner, you will need this book and eventually all the others I have mentioned, but you MUST have another book to help you along. If Coriolis ever publishes an up to date RH7 version of “Setting Up a Linux Internet Server Visual Black Book”, then it would make a great pair. Even the old version of the Visual Black Book will still help the beginner just fine but it’s always good to have the latest.Linux is free but learning it will cost you. Go ahead and get the book then go get all the other books.

I love the Kindle! I have read more since obtaining if and also Kindle software on my computers than I have in many, many years, perhaps ever! I have been reading history and fiction and biographies and enjoying it immensely. Most of what I have been reading is free! There are over a million out of copyright books available for free. The Kindle is so much easier on the eyes than a computer screen. I can read for hours without feeling any eyestrain at all. One of the great features is the syncing. I have the free Kindle software on two PC’s and a Mac. All of my Kindle books are available on all of them. Which ever device I read on is automatically synced at Amazon so that when I go to read on a different device, it offers to open to the farthest page read in that title regardless of which device it was read on. This includes the Kindle device as well!

My only complaint is that literally within hours of ordering my Kindle 2, they stopped selling them and by the time it arrived they had announced the Kindle 3. I contacted Amazon and they allowed me to return it and order the new version. Even though the one I had purchased was not defective, and I in essence had changed my mind, they gave me a full refund, no service fee! I kept it for a little over two weeks because I didn’t want to be without it!! I am now anxiously awaiting delivery of my new Kindle 3. I have not been given a ship date as of yet, but the day I ordered it they said it was expected to ship on or before 9/07/10. Sure hope that it does as they are still back ordered. Amazon began shipping them to customers several days earlier than the announced availability day, so maybe mine will ship soon!

If you’re looking for advice on a gaming system, I’ll tell you what a teenager told us. If you’re looking to buy for a younger child, say over 5 but younger than 14, then get the Wii. But, if you’re buying for a teenager, then they’re looking into the Xbox. So, there you have it, from the lips of a teen. So, off we went to get the Wii since we old folks could work out with it as well. It has been the best investment! We can use it with the Wii Sports, and the kids get to have a blast with it with the games. It’s so easy to use, the setup is easy (an 8-year-old did ours), and well, it’s just been a marvelous addition to the gametime in this house. A word of caution, however, be SURE you read the directions. There are warnings enclosed that state things like “Don’t play longer than 45 minutes at a time.” The Wii can cause seizures in people so be sure you pay attention to that stuff. Other than that, it’s great. Highly recommend!
