To me, the mark of a good book is when you don’t want to see it end. And when it does end, you can’t stop thinking about it. That’s how this book was to me. The characters were so richly drawn that I actually felt like they could be real people. When some of the injustices happened I had to remind myself that this was fiction. Sara Gruen writes this amazing story against a backdrop of the Great Depression and that adds so much to the story. I can’t say too much about it without giving away important plot points, but I did not see the big twist coming. I’m surprised I didn’t, as all the signs were there, but I was just so engrossed in the story that I didn’t put them together. This is a book I will read again and again.

Please do not let your children read this book. Skim through it for yourself and you will see that it is not a conversation with God at all. Beware!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this Casio watch. My first one finally wore out (battery and wristband) after years of use. I tried other models but this is the best. The digital screen is large and easily seen with the night light. Other ana-digi watches are OK during the day but difficult to see at night. Of course, the rest of the watch is feature-rich and really useful if you travel alot…easy to change timezones and not change your “home” settings. Also, it’s not as “gaudy” or bulky as the G-shock series. A classy watch with all the bells and whistles. Can’t beat the price, either…buying either a replacement battery or band will likely cost you more than a new watch. I hope they keep this model around for awhile!

No more tapping, step on and activate. Very easy to use, and easy on the eye. Our last scale was hard to read, and gave different readings each time. This scale reads large and clear, and consistent.

What did I just say? Awesome! Okay, the heart rate function, if you’ve become used to a Polar watch (like I had) seems a little secondary in this. But it’s there, and it will do the things you want. Just don’t expect to stare at your HR on the watch while working out. But hey, Awesome!
