When I ordered this steamvac, I did not know that there was no heated water or steam. The hot water that you add to the tank is not kept heated. I also thought there was a heated drying process also, which there is not. The product info that had been on this site as well as in large bold letters on the product box, states “Heated Cleaning: Forces hot air into the cleaning path.”
When I wrote to Hoover customer service to ask why I was not getting heated water or heated air, this was the reply: “Hello, Thank you for your recent email. Our models do not have a heat drying system. The unit uses heated cleaning during the cleaning process. As with all liquid carpet cleaning machines, cleaning solution is mixed with water for application to the carpet. The Hoover machine uses hot tap water and a liquid cleaning solution in a process known as “hot water extraction”. The cleaning mixture loosens the dirt from the carpet fibers, and it is removed by the vacuum of the machine. This hot water extraction method has long been known, both to the trade and the public, as steam cleaning. High temperature steam is not used on carpet since high temperatures could damage carpets. Hoover makes it clear on its cartons, instructions and other materials, that its machine cleans the carpet fibers using hot tap water and cleaning solution.”

So, I thought I was buying a newer technology that involved heated water or steam and heated drying than the old rug shampooers, but it is the same. That being said, this shampooer does a nice job. Just be sure to go very slowly to get good results.

As a senior citizen, my friends laughed when I got a 32mg I-Touch for my birthday. In no time I was downloading music and pictures, although not the ones that ITunes thought I might like. the “Genius” program is super, and now it suggests music more to my liking. It’s easy to use, fits in pocket or purse, and I have gotten a couple of nice covers for it. I would recommend it to users of all ages.

I recently read the Catcher in the Rye, and I didn’t think it was all that great. I found it a bit boring actually. I couldn’t read the last 3 or 4 pages of chapter 25 because I got so tired of main characters whinning. It also seemed very likely that he had bipolar disorder.

The reason why I think I was able to keep reading the book up until the end is because I can kind of identify with Holden. Aside from that, Nothing.

It was basically a book where nothing happened and I was very disappointed with the way it ended.

I purchased this Steam Vac based on reviews from Amazon. My household consists of 3 pets (beagle, 2 cats) and a slightly messy husband. We’ve lived in our home for 2 years and the carpet that was brand new when we purchased the home was becoming very worn in high traffic areas and spotted with various animal stains (I spot treated them all upon occurance but we all know how stubborn these can be). We used the Steam Vac for the first time last night and I admit i was skeptical. We started with the hard stuff, I wanted to see how it worked on the high traffic areas and animal stains first. IT REALLY WORKS! Seriously! It went over the stain and it was like a TV commercial..poof! The stain is gone! The matted high traffic areas are noticeably fluffier, not like brand new but a total 100% improvement over the original matted condition.

The Vac itself is very easy to use. The instructions are simple to understand, the appliance is solid not flimsy and the attachments are easy on and off. Also notable- My husband and I were both extremely impressed with the dry time! We didn’t feel ’shut out’ of any of our rooms for more than 30 minutes because of the speedy dry. Excellent! We have a 3 story townhome so there were plenty of stairs to Steam Vac. The attachments come with a great extendable ‘arm’ that had more than enough stretch for our tall staircases. We were able to park the Vac on a landing and the arm reached all the way up the stairs and around the corner comfortably without strain.

The bottle of cleaning solution that was included covered about 1300 sq ft of carpet. Lasted longer than I thought it would!

The one thing we haven’t tried yet is the vac on our upholstery, which we are going to try very soon. Overall I give this Steam Vac an A+. Amazon shipped quickly so we got it in a matter of days. Great buy, completely satisfied, highly recommended for households with pets!
