The FURminator deshedding tool is the best option I have found for removing excess fur from my dogs.We have a St Bernard and a Great Pyrenees. It clearly works better on the Saint as her hair is much shorter however it helps keep the Pyr’s shedding at bay as well.
Neither of the dogs have ever been crazy about being brushed but they don’t mind this at all.
Excellent price plus fantastic shipping and delivery time.Can’t go wrong.

I learned pretty quickly why this drive had such a low price. It is because it doesn’t work.

I have an iMac. I plugged this in with firewire and the drive immediately appeared and I was able to copy files to and from it. That lasted 10-15 minutes. After that the Mac Finder stopped responding and I had to turn off this hard drive to get it to snap out of it. Several similar attempts later, I turned it off and left it off.

A couple days later, I thought I’d give it a try using USB instead. This time it seemed to be working fine and gave no problems working with it for over an hour. It continued to be fine for several days (I only used it sporadically), but one day the Finder froze up again and once again I had to turn off this hard drive to get it to wake up. It has since worked fine on USB (about a week) without another lockup.

I don’t feel at this point that this drive can be trusted at all. As a firewire drive, it is completely unusable. As a USB drive it is unreliable. I don’t feel secure in putting any important data on this drive, not being sure if I’ll get that data back.

Let me tell you about myself first. I am not overly tech savy, this is the first electronic device that I have owned that is more advanced than my Motorola razr. The last music device I owned was a Discman with cassette adapter to play in my truck. I wanted something easy, fun, and versatile. I researched iPod Touch, Zune HD and a few others, but I always returned to the iPod. Yes, the price is higher than the others, and it is an Apple device if that makes you wary. This review is more about first time users/buyers of a device like this.

First, you will need a iTunes account. You will download and set this up prior to hooking up your iPod. If you have read the one star reviews and are nervous about this, so was I. I downloaded iTunes before my iPod arrived. Follow the instructions, and read all questions it asks you. If you want it to search for music on your computer, it will, and it will ask you if you want iTunes to be the default music player. I answered “no” to both of these questions. Eventually you will get to set-up the actual account at iTunes Store. YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR A CREDIT CARD NUMBER!! I recommend getting an iTunes gift card. I don’t know if I could have entered the gift card number and omitted the CC number but it would be worth trying. Also after entering the gift card, the running balance left on the card is always on your screen after signing in, and is a good way to budget your purchases. There are preferences that you can set up and select items you want iTunes to do or not do. Check them out.

Using iTunes is okay. I only have limited experience with another player (Real Player)so if there is something better I cannot say. It did take awhile to figure out playlists and some of the settings, but it works pretty well, now that I am used to it. If you are going to transfer a large amount of music to iTunes, be prepared for it to take some time, maybe a lot of time. I have an older Dell with XP and 2 gigs of RAM,so this may be

I am an avid reader and decided after several months of research to purchase the kindle 2. You have to know that at first this was a difficult decision for me because I was never one to buy books. I only went to the local library, I mean why buy a book when you can just get it for free? Anyway, my kindle 2 came via mail 2 weeks ago and I have already read 6 books! I absolutely love, love love it!! The books you can purchase through the kindle store are very reasonably priced and I love the fact that they download in less than a minute. No more waiting lists at the library! Plus, it is very easy to operate. So for anyone who is questioning getting a kindle 2, DO IT!! You will not be sorry.
HP Laserjet 4300 Series

I previously had a 32 GB iPod and loved it to death, but it barely had enough room to hold my music and I wanted some flexibility in what I could carry on it. When the 64 GB iPod came out I jumped on it. I love having the freedom to have as many apps as I want at my fingertips as well as plenty of room to throw TV shows and movies on the iPod as well. (I really enjoy having Firefly available to view anytime I want!)

The iPod is fantastic because there are so many application options to choose from, there is truly something for everyone. I’m a 34 year old guy who uses it constantly and I have a 5 year old niece that can’t keep her hands off it! Truly, young or old, anyone would enjoy this.

Overall, well worth the money. I have a Springer Spaniel/Beagle mix and a Pitt Bull. It works miracles on the Spaniel! Sooooo much better than anything else I’ve tried. Her fur is just like a Spaniel, only short. It works ok on the Pitt Bull. Not a miracle worker or anyghting, but not bad. So, 5 stars for the Beagle/Spaniel mix; 3 stars for the Pitt Bull.

I bought this book with high expectations after reading all the glowing review. I was disappointed as it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Ms. Gruen is a talented writer, and the book starts off well, but then travels into sappy “chick lit” territory, especially the ending.

However, the one thing that ruined this book for me was the depiction of mental illness. The character August is described as a paranoid schizophrenic. I am not a psychiatrist but I am a mental health professional and his symptoms sound closer to bipolar disorder. Also, August is cruel and violent, to say the least, when acutally most paranoid schizophrenics are NOT VIOLENT. Yes, I know it’s fiction and the author is free to take artistic license, but misconceptions about mental illness are common and this book only furthers them.

Lastly, I understand that the book is being made into a movie with Reese Witherspoon. I like Reese and even though I wasn’t crazy about the book, was thinking of going to go see it until I learned that Robert what’s-his-fang from the horrible “Twilight” series is playing Jacob Jankowski. Noooooooooooooo!
PRO SERIES Equivalent CANON

This is the fourth pedometer I’ve had. One got lost, another fell into the toilet, and none would come close to counting the steps in the house with carpeting. I like the feature where it automatically sets to zero for each day. I’m glad I read the reviews before purchasing from Amazon because the one negative seemed to be the clip not anchoring strongly enough and thus it was easy to lose. Sure enough, the first day I was wearing it around the house it came unclipped. Fortunately the next day the safety leash I ordered arrived and twice it has kept the pedometer from dropping unexpectedly. The lack of a strong clip is the only reason I gave it four stars.

KitchenAid Architect Series II

I liked this book. One reason is that there is a ton of high-tech things that the fairies use. Another is that the fairies are different from the creatures you read about in fairy tales. Also it was funny at times as well. The centaur named Foaly had a pretty good sense of humor at most times. It also had a lot of action in it as well.
There were, however, also a few things I did not like. One was people’s language at times, like that one commander who said, “Blow the door off its **** hinges.” There were a few other times people swore too. That was almost about the only thing I did not like about the book though.
In this book I did not really have a favorite part. I liked just about all of them. Altogether, it was a very good book.
